Joanie Lemercier

Joanie Lemercier is a French artist involved in projections of light and their influence on perception.

 

Lemercier co-founded the visual label AntiVJ in 2008, with artists Yannick Jacquet, Romain Tardy and Olivier Ratsi. 

Lemercier has exhibited at China Museum of Digital Art, (Beijing), Art Basel Miami, has created stage design for Mutek (Montreal, Mexico) and has worked alongside artists such as Flying Lotus (the Roundhouse, London), and with Portishead’s Adrian Utley (as part of the cultural Olympiads).

Recent work includes the emulation of three dimensional effects associated with holograms, albeit with a kinetic dimension. These are projections on mist, on water vapor, as in the work "Constellations." See video, below.
